Employers FAQs
How does the Healthcare Employment Verification
Network work?
The service provides employment verification and salary history
for current and past employees through this website, by fax or mail.
Simply direct verification inquires to this website or our toll free number.
This will relieve your staff from handling these requests.
Two levels of verification are available:
- Basic verification, which includes an employee's
name, job title, dates of employment, and current status (active
or separated).
- Complete verification, which includes an employee's
name, job title, dates of employment, current status (active or
separated), and payroll data (including pay frequency,
gross earnings for the year to date and the past 2 years). This
level requires an eight-digit Salary Key that is provided by the employee.
The Healthcare Employment Verification Network
routinely receives employment and salary information from a large
and growing number of employers. This information is in electronic
format, so it can be easily accessed when needed; verifications
can be delivered either online through this website or by fax or mail.
Any time a verifier needs to verify employment or salary
information of one of your current or past employees and they know you
have outsourced this to the Healthcare Employement Verification Network,
the verifier goes directly to this Network and does not contact you.
How does an Employee get a Salary Key?
The eight-digit Salary Key represents an individual's approval for
a verifier to access his or her salary information; it is provided to
the verifier by the employee. To obtain Salary Keys, the individual
will need to call 1-888-279-4504 to get a User ID and personal
identification number (PIN). The PIN will allow the individual to request
a Salary Key at any time, and the PIN can be used as often as needed.
A Salary Key is valid for one verifier for one usage. The individual
User ID and PIN also allow the employee to manage their account, enabling
them to check the status of verifications.
How do you protect confidentiality?
PreCheck has a long history of secure management of confidential
information. For the Healthcare Employment Verification Network,
this protection includes:
- Use of network intrusion detection and prevention technology.
- Industry-standard security practices.
- Access monitoring and control at physical site.
- Use of 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layers) encryption, the strongest
browser-supported encryption available today.
- An eight-digit Salary Key is required for verifiers to access salary
information. This key is available only from the employee whose
history is being verified.
- Verifiers must be registered with the Healthcare Employment
Verification Network, and must provide both the correct company
code and Salary Key.
